I've been sleeping with one of these pillows for 20 years. I used to have neck troubles occasionally. I have not had an issue in 20 years. Small size is best for back sleepers. You can go medium or large for side sleepers

I started having neck discomfort and a popping sensation when turning my head. I thought it might be my pillow. So, I searched the internet for best pillows for neck pain and got several different lists with exotic names and a variety of shapes. Who knew? Tempur-neck was usually in the list, and I had heard of Tempur as they have been around a while. I chose to go with their experience. I checked for their sizes, ordered a medium Temper-neck pillow with cooling and haven't had either problem since then. It fits great and the foam is very comfortable. It's the best pillow I've ever used.
